What do attenuation durations and transmission risk level mean?
This refers to the Bluetooth signal strength detected between two devices with Exposure Notifications enabled. It can be used to approximate the distance between the two devices. The closer the devices, and the fewer the barriers between them, the stronger the signal detected.
This refers to how long your device was in close proximity to another device with Exposure Notifications enabled.
Transmission Risk Level
Your risk for COVID-19 depends on many factors, such as your geographic region and current public health conditions. The transmission risk level is set by your local public health officials working with the app to provide an informed estimate for how much risk of COVID-19 exposure is associated with each interaction you have with another app user. Transmission risk levels range from 1 to 8, with 1 indicating the lowest risk and higher numbers indicating greater risk.
