Devices that run on the Android operating system require location permissions for apps that access Bluetooth. This is because some apps may use Bluetooth to infer user location. However, apps using GAEN (Google Android Exposure Notification) are unable to access your location data and even access to Bluetooth is only limited to the anonymous exchange of random IDs.
